TY Conscious Commitment

Taylor Yates is a luxury brand born with sustainability and responsibility at the core. We understand our planet's resources are precious. As part of our conscious commitment, we are working daily to find solutions to reduce our environmental impact. We hope this will add to your joy and would love you to feel as good wearing our bags as we do designing and making them.

Re:claimed

At Taylor Yates we are not about throwaway fast fashion, we believe in creating quality products, and doing it in an eco friendly and sustainable way.

Browse the full planet friendly collection made from repurposed surplus leather. The same quality British leather but with 0% waste. The Re:claimed Collection is another step in our journey towards being more sustainable and doing our bit for the planet.

Merino Wool

The Merino wool we use is sourced through the RWS, the Responsible Wool Standard. This is a “voluntary standard that addresses the welfare of sheep and the land they graze on” which is so important to us and aligns with our values and morals beautifully.

It is also ‘Made in Green by OEKO-TEX®’. The Made in Green label verifies that an article has been tested for harmful substances. It also guarantees that the textile  product has been manufactured using sustainable processes under socially responsible working conditions.

Leather Working Group

Taylor Yates bags are made by hand, at our leather company based in Somerset with a fine heritage but also at the forefront of technology and innovation.

Leather production raises sustainability issues and Taylor Yates wanted a supplier that complies with environmental practices within the leather industry and are part of the Leather Working Group. They are a long established leather producer with trading links to Ethiopia that date back 100 years. They provide community wide support for employees such as on site clinic and resources for schools.

Although we know we are not 100% sustainable yet, we are on track to keep doing more and doing better for both our people and our planet.
