Earth Month, which is observed every year in April, is an important opportunity for people to focus on the environment and take action to protect it. It serves as a reminder that we need to be more conscious of our impact on the planet and make changes to reduce our carbon footprint. However, we believe a single month of awareness and action is not enough to truly make a positive impact. To see lasting change, we need to make sustainability a part of our daily lives, year-round. We need to make long-term commitments to reduce waste, conserve resources, and protect our planet. Therefore, while Earth Month is a good start, we need to make a more sustained effort to protect our planet for generations to come.
We started Taylor Yates with a beautiful purpose, meaning everything we do has to have a purpose and be beautiful. Beginning with a beautiful purpose led us to creating our very first manifesto this year, we started to share our thinking, our purpose and our vision for Taylor Yates over the next six years;

A work in progress - How we design and manufacture is an evolving journey. We will always be honest about our ongoing intent to improve.
Anti obsolescence - We advocate for our products to be loved for a lifetime and take responsibility for keeping them circular.
Test and learn - We test new business models from rental and repair to repurposing waste leather with a view to growing in a responsible way.
Radical collaboration - We share ideas, resources and pursue progress with the local creative community.
Social responsibility - We give back to the communities where we design, source and manufacture.
